A successful online learner is a motivated self-starter and is committed to the success of their education. While iFlagler offers superior educational opportunities, there is a high degree of accountability placed upon the student. 

iFlagler is a franchise of Florida Virtual School (FLVS). As such, we use the same curriculum and online platform that FLVS uses, but iFlagler provides a personalized learning experience, with courses taught by local teachers. 

The courses and the requirements are the same. The difference is that iFlagler combines online learning with face-to-face instruction. If students need in person instruction or counseling, local teachers  and counselors are available to provide support on campus.

When students take courses through iFlagler, state funding (FTE) remains in the district.

As with all Flagler Schools in the district, iFlagler is fully accredited by AdvancED.

Diplomas are issued through the student’s home-zoned traditional high school.

iFlagler is part of the Flagler Schools district, and follows the same school year calendar. 

As a public school, enrollment in iFlagler Virtual School is free. 

iFlagler students receive the same devices and tools that traditional Flagler Schools students receive. Students who attend FLVS on their own, or are homeschooled do not receive district student devices.

School for you starts when your family decides that it does, or when your teacher has a scheduled lesson.

Students will interact in virtual sessions with teachers and small groups.  

Full time iFlagler students participate in a monthly virtual homeroom meeting to receive important news, deadlines, and events. The gives the homeroom teacher the opportunity to ensure that all students’ needs are met and address any issues or challenges. 

Students are able to take all regular and honors core classes as well as a variety of electives. The nature of virtual instruction does not make it not possible to offer courses that are primarily hands-on such as band and chorus.

iFlagler students are eligible to participate in interscholastic and non-class related activities at their home-zoned school.

It is our goal to provide students with whatever level of service they require. We can offer a full curriculum for grades K–12, or just one or two courses in grades 6–12 to satisfy graduation requirements. 

iFlagler students may take one or two classes at a traditional school, as long as their families make the commitment to provide consistent transportation. For safety reasons, students cannot stay at school unattended once the class has ended, or arrive on campus before the class starts. If more than one class is taken on campus, the classes must be taken in consecutive periods as reflected on the master schedule. 

Students will be asked to make a commitment to stay enrolled with iFlagler for a complete semester. If a student wishes to transfer to a traditional school at the end of a semester, that is possible.
